Goodbye Picnik....

I am one of the millions of last minute Picnik users, that wonderful free online photo editing tool. The end comes April 19th. Too soon in my opinion. There's so much left to do!

This morning,  4/21/2012, I was greeted by this on the Picnik website. IT'S OFFICIAL. So what now?

Hello PicMonkey....

Created by the same team that hatched Picnik, this promises to be a more streamlined, simpler and more powerful online photo editor. Not everything is up & running - yet. But, I'm liking what I see.

How about you, what do you use?

  1. I have checked out PicMonkey and I have experimented with a few of their tools. The site is easy to navigate, but many of the nice tools won't be royalty free for long!
Overall it's a great alternative to Picnik :)

    1. I guess it depends on one's needs. For my uses, Picnik had the effects/tools I needed (for free). Hopefully, PicMonkey will too. I wish it was up and running fully, NOW.

  2. I've never used a online photo editor...but for working from home, I may suggest to download a free software as gimp (there are many of those!). It's handy, and doesn't expire :D

    1. I have tried many (Gimp included). It can do many things, but is not user friendly (like Picnik or PicMonkey). You are right - it is free to access and provides great service.

  3. I just use the software that came with my computer. I'm too busy to have to figure out new sites and tools every time something starts charging.
