OLYMPICS 2012:
#NBCFail to BBC Sweep
Today, I watched one of my favorite events, the Women's All Around (Artistic) Gymnastics competition L I V E . Every gymnast. Every country. Every event. Uncut. Commercial-free. On BBC.
I joined the growing number of Americans disgruntled with NBC's coverage of the London Olympic games. Not only delayed, NBC's coverage is selective, riddled with meaningless commentary, interrupted by lots of commercials and wastes time with lack-luster interviews (let the swimmers catch their breath BEFORE you ask them questions; And oh, isn't there anybody else besides Bela Karolyi that can be the network's "gymnastics expert"? He needs subtitles!). In contrast, I find the BBC announcers to be compassionate, finding the positive in every athlete - win or lose. Happy thought indeed.
That's awesome! I'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the gymnastics and really get sick of the (way too much) negative commentary.
Thanks!
More gymnastics to come so I hope you get it set-up. All the best!
DeleteGreat idea! We spend most of the time making fun of the judgy commentators. I would rather not have to do that.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who dislikes NBC's commentaries...
DeleteGood ol' BBC!
ReplyDeleteHat's off to the BBC for SUPERB coverage!
Delete...Genius! Thank you for the tip!
ReplyDeleteGlad to share though I had no part inventing it.
DeleteYES. Thank you for this. I was actually thinking last night that I enjoy the Olympics SO much more when they're live in my time zone because the network can't edit them. I'll definitely head over. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe instructions are fairly straightforward and you can be enjoying the games in a matter of minutes!
