A CONTRAST IN BOUQUETS ...

Like you, I got my token "flowers" from family this past Mother's Day. My DH has come a long way from picking flowers from an obliging (or sometimes an unobliging) field.... to this year's offering of big, colorful and aromatic Stargazer Lilies:

A BOUQUET OF CONTRASTS....

My daughter hit a sweet spot with this offering:

Krabby Patties (or KPs - the ULT in gummy candy, as far as I'm concerned) stacked 6" high on a stick! They're tightly tucked inside a cowboy boot glass and finished off with a pink bow. "Devour" comes to mind, but I've shown considerable restraint, just so I could take a picture for you. (Been feeling them up though...soft..squishy...yummy!)

I took a moment in the midst of the store remodel to enjoy my day with flowers, family and candy (not necessarily in that order). How about you?

  1. Great way to spend Mother's Day!, I on the other hand - went to visit my daughter's house, cradled the new baby in my arms, sang to him, he looked up at me and listened. I fell in love!

    1. Hope the 4-legged babies gave Mom a break from routine.

    1. She is (though she's been trying to lift one of my gummy sticks when I'm not looking). I'm E & E (excited & exhausted) by the shop re-model. I can see the end in site, but it will be a few more weeks...

  4. Sounds like a lovely Mother's Day! Beautiful lilies, and what a sweet gift from your daughter! :)

We had a family BBQ and it was a lot of fun, beautiful sunshine too!

    1. It's been raining here so no BBQs possible. Like you, I just found a nest tucked in the shrubs outside my bedroom window. I have 24/7 access to it (makes me feel like a National Geographic photographer he-he...)

  5. My husband brought me stargazers, too! The florists must have been pushing those this year lol. They are really beautiful flowers, and I know you must be pleased with yours; I am.

  6. Stargazers (as my DH absolutely knows) is my FAVORITE bloom of all. I would prefer them potted, but getting an arrangement was just as happily received!
